Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Restrictions on everything

All software needs approval from a vp which takes forever

USB access needs approval from a vp which yep you guessed it…takes forever

What genius put these restrictions in place. The amount of red tape to do simple things is staggering.

Soon you cannot use Firefox because it is not “Dell Approved”

This is the most painful process I’ve ever experienced at Dell. What I need is an even a software, I don’t share any information and it’s not downloadable… I know we’re trying to reduce duplication, but there’s probably an easier way to do this

Locking everything down was so insulting. If a company has zero trust in it's employees, then productivity will be ki-led, but also motivation.

trying working with Azure and AWS as a developer. They have all that stuff locked down where you cannot perform the simplest of tasks. It's a shyte show now. They make it extremely hard to do your job.

This will grind any tiny bit of innovation that exists in the company to a halt. JC and Co just really have no clue. Do your job, improve your CV and move when the time suits you.
