How does today's severance compare to that of, let's say, ten years ago? Or even before then? I'm curious if employees who were laid off used to get more weeks per year and if there were some extras included that have been removed from today's packages.

I got notified yesterday in QCT after 12 years. It was 2 months base plus 2 weeks per year of service. No bonus. ESPP contributions to be refunded. RSU vesting until Nov 20.
I was praying for this lucky draw and it came on time to get a much well deserved break from the non stop roller coaster ride.
I got 1 paycheck(monthly) per year; and vesting of November RSU
No idea how it compares to what was prior.
@OP+1uqG7wIV: Agreed! At some point, severance packages will dwindle. I was laid-off in Oct 23. While shocked when it happened, at least I walked away with a 2 weeks/year, totaling 22 severance pay.
Best to be shown the door while they still provide severance packages based on years working there.
