I did not read the fine print. I hardly have the patience to read the offer letter till the end. What I said is mostly from general impression about EU that labor laws are very strong here and it is not so straightforward for companies, specially foreign companies, to hang their boots in the air by saying 'we don't have money to pay you'. I am not from EU so may be you can educate me if the general impression I am having is a fallacy
What legal action? You happen to read the fine print when you sign on? Unless Q is somehow unionized in Europe…
Europe which sites? It is mostly impossible to fire in Europe or the company will face legal action. France/Germany/Finland/UK? Which site is the most affected.
Yes , notifications have started going out in Europe
They will give you a hint in a "polite" way and hope you to leave by your own. Then they will give you a severance offer or PIP agreement to let you pick. Q's severance is not great depending no the time it varies.
