It bugs me that Dell puts on a good face for the general public, many of whom still think working here is great, but the way they treat employees is sinister and corrupt. The leadership doesn't care about any of us or our satisfaction with the company. They're driven by numbers and they'll do whatever they want to make sure they look good. If it means laying off a bunch of good employees who've been here for decades, so be it.

This is every company. Welcome to capitalism. The ONLY thing that matters to your employer is making money. Full stop. They do not care about you. At all.
MD basically turning over the company to EMC management is why this company is failing and will show a steady slide in the coming years. Joe Tucci knew EMC was a slow bleed, so he sold it off. Now MD is seeing the same thing. Storage is in decline, everybody sells it and Dell (or EMC) no longer has a leg up on it's competitors. The ONLY product that's above water is Servers (AI). But that will soon decline as well when the hype is over. Remember Dot.com?
Welcome to the real world
as a long-timer now retired, does anyone check to friends, neighbors, relatives, etc. about the culture bc from the earliest days it was cost centric and a challenging environment
One of the worst.
I have never worked for a place so focused on shaving costs from employees. They treat their people like furniture.
No one with any knowledge about tech companies thinks working at dell is great. No one.
Now the walmart door greeter MAYBE.
