Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

So many "Open to work" on Linkedin

I have hundreds of connections of JPMC employees in my Linkedin profile. I was looking all my connection and many of those from Chase are showing "Open to Work".
Are lay offs happening in pockets so media doesn't get attention or am I misinterpreting something?

I agree about middle management layer being bloated. Too many chiefs , too few indians ( workers)

It happens to Bank of New York Mellon as well.

Bank of New York Mellon has layoffs every month. The company layoffs U.S. employees and hires more in India and Poland.

Same! I've been seeing so many JPM contacts suddenly with the green banner, I think they just doing small layoffs here and there to avoid bad publicity.

Yes they are quietly laying off. After the initial layoff announcement in the news, they've been laying off consistently. After I was laid off in February, I've learned of 2 layoffs between that time and July.

There has been layoffs every week.
We don't particularly need to follow the rif schedule that has been put out by HR.
My team cut one developer every month this year on average, total 5 so far but all due to politics, it's not performance.
I think middle mgrs need to be cut off, it's very bloated with too many project management roles; i.e middle mgrs, scrum masters, business analysts, EDs

There have been lay offs in July, May, and earlier in the year. Some in the Corporate Sector, others in CCB. Other lines of business may be affected as well, but I am not aware.
What about Capital One? I see similar situation there?

Yep, they found out its easier and less dramatic to just slowly and quietly layoff people rather than a big chunk at once.
