Chips Act - Intel's saviour.

They guaranteed on-site child care, but didn't guarantee a minimum headcount.
I guess if you lay off enough and move to a lower cost geo, child care doesn't make any difference.

As a taxpayer, the government should not give any grant money to Intel until there is a concrete achive plan not a a field of dreams plan. According to Zinser on the Citi call, the government has not given any grant money to Intel yet.

The Chip Act's money for Intel is starting to sound like the government bailout of Chrysler. The intent of the Chip Act is to bring leading edge manufacturing to US soil mainly for national security purposes not to bailout a troubled company who cannot produce competitive products that customers desire for their end products.
