New signs? Summer’s greatest hits?

Thinking about the new verbiage on the generic signs going up on Monday… is there a lawsuit in place??

Also noticing the immediate take down of summers greatest hits, is that a copyright??

Just curious

Customers often dig through the sign holder and put the largest percentage in front to challenge the colleagues. Of course, the colleague has to honor it.

My store was a pilot store for the new signs in spring. We did go through a lot of paper but once you have all the signs you need its makes signing the sale easy. The only toppers we use is the vip, friends and family and use your Macy’s card. The signs holders don’t look like they are explode with the extra paper stuffed in them.

Yes, the amount of paper that will be wasted as we no longer use the discontinued % off SALE signs and % off SPECIAL signs is staggering when it has to be done by every Macy’s store. Not to mention the acetates and toppers which won’t be needed because the new signs are printed with the words that are on the acetates and toppers. Too bad I can’t add a photo of signs.

They were sued in CA over the sale percentage signs. Now the signs say the percentage plus something like “discount taken of at register” at the bottom.
No info on lawsuit via in store other than the email and updated sign library. It doesn’t come up on Google either so they most likely settled or will. Very suspicious.

We had to throw away ALL our sale % signs on our and print new sale sign libraries. Literally thousands of pieces of paper, which is such a WASTE. Not to mention a giant waste of time, And this company prides itself in being “green” LOLOL yeah, good one Macy’s! Hilarious.

If this company knew how much money they waste on paper and signing not to mention time spent signing, they’d save a efffffing fortune. But nah, “work harder not smarter” is the unofficial official motto of this backwards company.

My guess is that when you say 40 percent off and then extra 20 percent off, that 20 was being taken off the sale price and most customers assume it's coming off the original price, hence a smaller discount. In this day, could easily see someone with money file a lawsuit over something so stupid.

Just a guess ..........

As far as the "new signs" that needed to start Monday and be completed by end of day the 19th, it's in regards to the smaller verbiage on the % signs. Ie 40% / 50% /60% etc.... "Summer's Greatest Hits" just needed to be taken down. Labor Day usually marks the end of Summer.

My manager told me something about a lawsuit that can’t be discussed and we have to throw away all our signs and put up new ones. I want to know how generic signs caused any confusion?

When I was at Macy's this would happen every few years. We'd discard old signs and bring out new ones. No big deal. I don't think this anything to be alarmed about.

Something is up because every generic sign has to be changed. We received detailed emails about how this was all legally required and how the swap out of all signs on the floor and on the sign carts must be done by September 19. Stores don't have enough sign paper to do this with such Short notice!

Could it just be that Summer is over? After Labor Day, stores shift everything to Fall.
