Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

A plea from back office

We're trying our best... For those of us still in the US that haven't been thrown offshore, we're really, really trying our best. We have no control. Please be kind. Those that are gone literally trained their offshore replacements. In the beginning, we didn't even know that's what was happening. Your support help desks for retail and commercial like Ops Workbench, Sprint, AFS, Exceptions... The few left in operations... Processing your request forms and lawfs... We're truly trying to help you. We understand the frustrations, the package returns from offshore... It's so frustrating and awful. But we have no control. We all live on a day to day basis of "when will it happen?" We've been told they can pay 3 offshore employees what one of us make. Keeping in mind, the majority of us were mid range pay employees, but after the pay changes we were stuck in making the same dollar amount as a new employee. Even with 10+ years of experience. We went from mid level to beginning level pay.

Why stay? Some of us have 10, 15, 20, 25 years in... To walk away from the possible severance pay, pensions, vacation days? It's hard.

We truly care. We're doing our best with what we have to give. It's not our choice. Please be kind, because we know you're going through it too.

"Package returns from offshore"

what is being sent offshore and how cost effective is that? I'm not sure how off-shoreing is going to sustainable in the long run and how interofficing is going to work out.

@lxr+1umgBhpt If you are referencing my comment about doing a walkout, I don’t know who Shane is and no I’m not someone in management lurking around. I’m a worker just like the rest of you. I just do my job (and yes, have my complaints too) and don’t whine.

@goi+1umgBhpt Shane H. You are the last one who should make comments on other people's work ethic.

Yep and this guy (below) is why you should stop caring. He thinks you’re lazy and can be replaced by someone offshore he’s just not worth it baby

These guys had years where they barely did any work and now they're complaining that they have to work.

@bgn+1umgBhpt You go ahead and do that walkout. We already have clients furious due to processing delays. You go ahead and walk out. Don’t come whining then when your head is next on the chopping block. I would never keep an employee like you.

I say complain away. It’s not your fault the work isn’t getting done. It was a foreseeable outcome given the sheer amount of offshoring that was done. The stock price is up now maybe they can bring the more problematic areas back

Do you think it may be time to unite the clans and stage a walk out in the branches to help our support teams? EL announcing bonuses for the very folks supporting this kind of decision making is a good indicator. Looking at the engagement surveys and seeing NO compassion in our leadership at a time like this is very telling. What say ye?
