Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

Voluntary layoff

It would be great if we could voluntarily request a layoff with severance, allowing the company to manage staffing more effectively and potentially avoid more drastic layoffs down the line!

I said that, and then got laid off, wish granted. Honestly, just do your work and be patient. I think there is going to be another massive one before they close shop. I just hope all those who have worked their butts off for the company over the years don't get sc--wed over with their severance package.

@NO CALL NO SHOW, this is called unionizing, 2U is the poster child for why this is a good idea, and it is illegal to fire someone for discussing labor organizing at work in the US

This has been covered here again and again. Don't do this. You will ruin your chances of getting unemployment.

I think we all should do a NO CALL NO SHOW for 3 days and demand we get treated nicely. Who's with me?

100% agree. However this may be considered a voluntary quit and voluntarily quitting your job can disqualify you from receiving unemployment benefits. Each state has their own rules. It depends on how the company puts it through.
