Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I've got a job offer, should I tell my mgr?

Should I wait for ISP first?
If I tell him, would he suggest me to natural resign or cover me to receive an ISP package?
When is the ISP nomination process? and finalist notification?

Probably, with the 40% tax you will have to pay on your ISP package, it's not worth waiting. Give the notice and leave asap. Cost of staying longer in this environment is higher than the 60% of an ISP in my opinion.

Delay your start date. I got a job offer and was able to delay for 7 months in 2023. Had the offer on hand Feb and started in Oct. They will work with you. Easy peasy. Whatever you do, do not work at both places. It WILL come back to you later.

OP here, I'm from GAR and VSP was not applicable. That's why I'm wondering when the ISP finalist is out so I can take the package without resigning. I can wait no more than 1st Oct...

p/s: GARians pls VPN to post/comment here.

If this is true and you in fact have a job offer why would you gamble with it. Take the new job and leave. Don't blow it by being greedy.

It depends where you are located. I assume you are US based. So there are no laws that might benefit you by delaying announcing.

I’d do as another here commented. Tell your boss you reconsidered given the current climate and request an ISP. It’s as noted, you’d likely need to work until Nov 15 to get the package.

It doesn’t hurt to ask is my motto.

OP, you likely already misplayed your hand if your goal was to extract the maximum possible from Intel. Personally I would cut bait at this point, move to your new job as quickly as possible and don't look back. You won't regret not spending more days working at Intel.

Make sure you are not employed by intel and some other company at the same time or intel will skin you.

You can delay your start date until after November.

Say nothing and use remaining vacation days if you have any

To get the ISP payout, you must be working for Intel through November 15th.

Even those who take early retirement or have the voluntary application approved have to work through the end of September.

Your manager would be wise to tell you to resign and forfeit the package if you have an offer in hand that you wish to accept.
