They are just attending meetings, enjoying their WFH time, slacking. They are not the contributor by all means, yet they are deciding who to CPM last round. This round, I hope God will punish you!

the first thing the mid level managers should do is fire the friends they hired, who i guarantee are worthless.
the second thing is to just resign because people like them created this mess.

Ironically, this is the time those guys have the most real work to do, deciding who to let go and who to keep. Wheeling, dealing, cashing in favors, protecting their positions, trying to prevent their orgs from getting hallowed out. Those decisions will impact their own futures at the company. The ones who don't have a new job lined up in greener pastures want to make sure they still have a seat when the music stops.
Personally my FLM is incredible and deemed vital to our team and org. However, the SLM is useless, does bare minimum, and is talentless.

Well said. My 1st and 2nd level managers are completely useless. They don't have the technical skills and knowledge anymore and keep milking the cow to the end.
