Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Replace HR.

Since HR is so lame and useless, why not get rid of them? There’s cheaper outsourced companies as well as software that can do just as good if not better for a much cheaper price I’m sure. It may even better to use AI, why not. Whatever you chose, you’d get a bigger bang for your buck more so than what you’ve got right now.

Post ID: @qge+1ujZkiw7 True. In Citi, HR opines on subject matters and job responsibilities about which they have NO Fvcken clue how it's actually done or what the work actually entails. Let's face it and agree that most of HR have NO work experience or academic training in the technical or science fields. How can someone in HR with a background in law, psychology, sociology, English literature, other Liberal Arts disciplines or even Business (Accounting, Finance, Marketing) opine about job applicants' and also internal employees' candidacy or qualifications in Tech/Math/Science ??? Typical Citi culture and practices. As usual, HR talking out of its @SS.

They part of HR they should get rid of is the DEI department.
It's worthless, would save a lot of money and it's racist anyway.

It’s seems like most of HR team is corrupted and they take candidates from consultancies they give them share per candidate , that why if you see they open FTE role and they reject and finally go with contracts or consultancy who pay commission to them. People have personal goals than org here.

Because programmers can do things others cannot, they start thinking they can do everyone else’s job.

Citi is the first major financial institution I have worked for where HR has such a big influence on promotions, hiring, etc. It is ridiculous. They even opine on technical expertise when comparing candidates. Not sure how is this allowed, or maybe no one from business complains, because they are also cronies? Who knows.

I feel same for the BA team members. Specially where the development team members are experienced enough to deal with trader, why we need a BA in this crunch time?
