Yes, it was time for me to go

Yep. 20 years in, this is the only reason I stay. If they changed it, it wouldn’t only be engineers leaving. Manufacturing sites would empty of all their experience at once.
Yes. It was bearable until early 2020s. I would had left earlier if I hadn’t been so close to retirement. I lucked out when they had the layoffs/undeserved PIPs nightmare. I was 3 years away from 55. I would have retired the day after my 55th birthday, but I stayed to get all of my vacation for the next year. I lucked out there too. Shortly after I left, I think the stopped paying the entire years worth of vacation to retirees who left in January.
Absolutely. I'd be out of this shltshow faster than you can say Darren Woods.
Yes
Any youngsters staying for the pension: just be aware that you will get nothing close to what is promised because they don’t allow your salary to keep pace with inflation over the second half of your career. Run your pension projections with zero salary increase and then wack off another percent per year remaining.
I'm only staying for the pension. Three more years and I'll finally be free from this toxic place!
Only thing keeping me here and about 60% of the >15 year employees.
I will answer h ello yes at once. Without the retirement and more importantly the medical I would have left years ago. My mediocre raises did not keep me here nor did the wonderful people. I would have jumped ship and then jumped again. The pay is just not worth it and without the retirement I would leave for less money and stress.
