Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Different versions of the same story but the problem remains the same.

Over the years I’ve heard different versions of the story of, several people leave one after another to another bank for more money and or opportunity. As we lose people, a higher up takes one of his directs for a ride and talk. They drive by the hiring competitor bank and the higher up person says “there’s your problem right there, now fix it”.

The “fixing it” part isn’t an acknowledgement of “that bank so and so….those rascals, they are at it again” but rather……..

“ Train your people well enough to where they can leave, treat them well enough to where they don’t want to.” While this is a quote from another highly respected CEO from another company, this still rings true and unfortunately it either woefully escapes Citi managing directors comprehension or they truly don’t care.

Either way, if you don’t like your environment, then change your environment, in this, Jane’s advice of “getting off of the train” is good advice.
