NANO 2.7 and 3.0 Valves

Latest news there is a recall on the 2.7L and 3.0L Nano Engines...

What the $hit. Dealers are going to run some test on them and replace engines as required...

This is nothing new...The 3.0L Continentals also have valve issues...

Next class action will be the rubber belts we have running in the engine oil... if you are unsure of this just gander over to Youtube and watch some engine teardown videos... Some are just for oil pumps and others are entire valvetrain... GM does it too..

Change you oil often... and change your wet belts at great expense.

Guides wear out from poor finish on valve stems or inconpatibility with guides and the valves dance around in the guides and break off. I saw a video that engine made a few years back. We could not figure out why we were getting near misfires on a particular cylinder... Valve was bouncing off the side of its seat before sealing... Got a little poof of oddball combustion and crank sensors pick up a deceleration in crankshaft.. Misfire!

I will assume this is the same issue we saw on Continental 3.0L.

Not too worry, The wet belt driven oil pump will be the next class action.

For the bronco sport it will be the wet cam belt...

This is the type of stuff that is not sustainable. Rather than focusing on people's objectives like they have been, the rubber literally meets the road with these kinds of issues. If these problems keep happening, no amount of goal tracking and check in's are going to help. They need to concentrate on where the issues actually are and quit cutting corners. Doesn't instill confidence in Ford at all. If you are a potential new hire, think long and hard about what you want out of your time at Ford. Obtain it in as meaningful way as you can and then move on.

The engine plants like to request an alert for graphite-impregnated valve seats because they improve tool life. Not sure if that was done in this case.

Sounds like powertrain engineering was mandated to save $10 per cylinder head, quality be damned...just like the dp6 transmissions!

We want to become leaders in the BEV race but we can't even produce 100 year-old technology without defects getting to the customer.

Oh boy, here we go again. I wonder how many will require engine replacement.

I was the video few months ago and was shocked. It seams to me we need to stay away from these engines and only buy none-turbo ones.

OP, do you know what issues these engines are experiencing?
