Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I wish for once we'd get some good news regarding Ford

The constant negativity is exhausting. Every day it's some new cr-p that ruins my day. Is there anything good happening at this company?

The good news is that there is no bad news today.

Good news would be Stern shut down Ford Next and Canopy Security LLC.
Adds $5 Billion to bonus calculations.

Good news would be that somebody’s offer to buy the train station was accepted.

Maybe we will get some good news that the BoD finally woke up and sacked BF, JF and DF? Maybe there will be mass layoffs through upper management? Maybe they will put engineers back in charge of things and send the marketing people packing?

We saw a couple of positive things this week: DEI being rolled back (still a ways to go there) and a strategic change from electric to hybrid (about 5 years too late).

@tfj+1uhtZjw4: not sure how long you have been at Ford, but I've experienced much better leadership in the past. For example, Alan Mullally. JF can't hold a candle to him. He can't even contain himself. He looks like he is going to explode with anger at any moment. We've got 25% more engineers than we need? Spoken like a true marketer.

I never would have thought that when I started, we would now be at a point where I would NOT recommend engineering as a profession. How's that for leadership?

You are very wrong about Ford leadership. We have the best in business given the difficult automotive/mobility climate of today.

Bill Ford himself has said how our current leadership team is the best that Ford has ever had in its history.

It is comical how so many don't realize this right in front of themselves.

Yes, something good is happening at Ford. Farley is taking twenty plus millions of dollars to his bank acount this year, I am guessing he gets paid as a race driver because he su-ks as CEO. The rest of the C suite is getting too well compensated for the cr@ppy job they are doing. This applies also to a lot of managers and GSRs at Ford.

You mean the company? Nah, with so many people milking the company and the worst "leadership" at the helm, the only god news is the absence of bad news. Right now Ford could have the discovery of the century and still drop the ball in the execution.

Personally, every day at Ford is a win for me, since I am getting closer to retirement, and I'm still earning a paycheck. Focus on your family, your health, your skills, on saving money, and you'll see how you won't have time to worry about bad news at Ford.
