Is wael the ceo with the least leadership and vision ever?
He’s truly pathetic. Literally anyone could say ‘ok sack 20% of the work force to save money’
But what value has he really added.
He inspires no one and has shown zero vision.
He’s happy to take his millions in pay though of course.

@7vax guess who else is a joke? You.
Sada Iyer is also a joke.
The share price doesn’t seem to be impacted with the big changes made. DarrenWoods-wannabe- same same moves but very different results.
Wishing for less 10 min interviews with staged questions on the Intranet.
Don’t worry waels pay packet of 50 million is safe for next year - remember that when you’re filling out sps folks.
No vision and most pathetic ceo
I approve of this message.
He is a raider ... will line his own pockets with short-term BS, destroy the lives of the people who made the company, and then go to his South of France mansion and watch the company implode. They could have dealt with the cost structure by selling the BS departments they started, and a hiring freeze for 2 years ... but that would not have made a market impact, and not get a 5% boost to the share price. Aside from the real issue that Shell has no organic growth and some fairly high decline rates ... that is why Shell underperformance Exoon and Chevron, he has done nothing to address that. The 20% AAC differential is a secondary issue, any di** he** can slash costs by letting staff go.
Wael will appear successful as long as there are quarterly profits, even if those profits are due to reduction in Opex.
We all sign up for potential layoffs when we work in oil and gas. But the way these layoffs are being handled is beyond comprehension. Wael and his cronies are burning the place down.
The moral authority to lead was lost long ago when employees were k!lled in his remit. Subsequently, he can’t hold other poor safety or business leaders accountable either. He’s been slated for CEO since he was ~25. Few obstacles, meteoric rise.
Pivoting back to traditional oil and gas was a no-brainer. Company reorganizations are a sign of terrible management….no matter what the leadership tells you.
Agree. He’s a sociopath. His own track record of finding oil is terrible and now he’s letting Eugene follow in his footsteps putting people in place with little to no experience actually finding oil.
Also, the webcast this week su-ked big ba--s. Really Suzanne couldn’t even clear her schedule to talk about laying off a huge part of the workforce that she had to take a call from the car?! Come on! Safety first and all that, unless your leadership then the rules don’t apply.
