Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

Nepotism runs deep in Accenture

Unless you are related to somebody or you know the right person, you might as well quit. You can kiss any career progression goodbye.

Depends on the project. My project is great, it seems like politics do play a role, but it is also merit based. I know for certain about another project, where literally nepotism ruled. But the project got offshored, maybe that is why it was allowed/tolerated. Then almost all promoted above level 12/11 got laid off. I mean you can get a job based on nepotism on one project, but if you want to move to higher level on another project, who will hire you? Some people I personally know grew from level 13 to level 9 in 4 years. To be honest, that is so suspicious, and not at all healthy. First, it is not enough experience gathered to be an efficient manager for level 8. Second, as it happened, all of them got laid off. Simple reason, no one will hire internally after project closure, someone who was on level 9 one year, because there will be people with much more experience in the talent pool. Bottom line, you can get a job thanks to nepotism, but if you will keep it and perform at it, is a whole different story.

if you are non Indian, there is a high chance you will be pushed out for any and one reason and they may cook one if necessary. If you are Indian, you are prob a growing cartel in Accenture even if you are not that capable.
