Explore broader earth science opportunities maybe in climate/space exploration. Another growing area is related to energy storage for heat, geothermal etc. Some subsurface folks in NL managed to branch out to data science, investment banking as they need people who understand uncertainty, urban energy providers such as Eneco. Sell more integration skills that you acquired during your Shell years working together with reservoir/wells/production engineers, package them in general terms such as site prospecting to design to construction and production/operations.

If you are up for upskilling and into teaching, there is a strong demand for teachers in NL.
