Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

No thought put into decision-making

As someone who survived this round of layoffs and had my direct counterparts let go. Being the last-man standing with no one to cover in my stead is absolutely absurd. The more I hear, the less I want to know. I feel awful for those who were impacted by this, and cannot imagine what’s to come.

I was in the "black Monday" culling. Honestly... I was ready. I was already the "last man standing" in my dept. No sign of help, 24/7 on call and 3% raise which is a JOKE. 11 years for nothing. Fortunately, I was able to retire after that. As of now no severance pay... YET.... but I did get a snarky reply from HR when I asked about it. The reply was "Read this" and a screen shot of the agreement I signed stating up to 30 days AFTER I sign not 30 days from last day of work..... Thanks and avoid that place at all cost. Toxic, inbred, white male dominated and very "boys club". There is a glass ceiling and well.. you know the rest.

I would agree as well. There’s no thought behind this as they have gotten rid of key high performing members.

I expect another cut will come to those department that was not let go this round.

I survived too. I was chatting with a colleague from Chockstone, worked with him on many things through the years, very nice, reasonable guy. He asked me if I had heard who all they let go and we were conversing when he got the meeting invite out of the blue. I hate it for him so bad. He's talented enough to find another position, I'm sure he will be fine with some time.
