Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Early morning reorg mtg - tone deaf

Completed a reorg mtg about 45 mins ago.

They just went right into new org, strategy, putting in our best efforts, be bold, etc. and completely ignored the elephant in the room about low employee morale and layoffs.

Almost like they were instructed to avoid the topic from their Mckinsey overlords in the hopes we'll put our heads down and get back to work.

I can't get behind this company any longer. This is not the company I signed up to work for.

Bossard is McKinsey through and through, brought in solely to make these cuts. It's not like he's competent to run operations or has done anything positive since his appointment. He's not leading or giving any direction on how to do things better, he's there to make cuts and will be gone with a fat pay check before the real consequences play out. His directs are all eyeing that job when he's gone which is why they can't kiss his a*s enough and compete to show how ruthless they are in who they got rid of. Lot's of score settling in this round given the people who got hit. Bready has some history, so has to appear to be a little upset, after all that was his whole spiel about doing things differently when he took over from Jeff. Make no mistake though his strings are being pulled and he's no longer in charge. He's being told what to do by his pay masters and is only too happy to comply in order to keep his expensive hairstylist employed.

The communication from Bossard was cold as ice, Bready’s was slightly better. Managers in my org have instantly had their direct reports doubled. Been through this before with other organizations but have to say this was one of the worst in terms of lack of empathy or humanity and I say that not being one of the affected.

We've still yet to even have our managers acknowledge that layoffs even happened.

Especially with tons of people still not sure where they end up. No current manager or new manager meetings scheduled. Surely there’s movement still happening but there seems to be gobs of people still without a clue where they are going or really what their new role might be. That’s the frustrating thing for many, it seems. You want morale to stay up but you still have people scared they don’t even have a place because nobody has given them one.
