Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

BD is the best job I’ve had

Why does everyone feel so negative about this company? I enjoy being a good worker and doing what I’m told. I like the challenge of taking on multiple people’s jobs on top of my own to no benefit for myself. I enjoy working 10 hours a day and living life in the dungeons of Franklin Lakes. It’s a great place guys

You must be someone's favorite, relative, or friend or you know what..... BD is crumbling from all angles because it's packed with incompetent people who have no business being here. In my department, most of the VPs are jokers, promoting only their fellow clueless cronies to cover up their own ineptitude. If you're actually competent, working hard, and delivering results, you can forget about ever moving up. This place thrives on mediocrity and incompetence, and the only path to promotion here is by being utterly useless. I wish I had seen through this toxic, cancerous culture before I made the mistake of joining.

If you are seeing this post before joining, you are lucky!

I was corporate bullied as an intern over a decade ago in supply chain. Managment knew about the abuse and did absolutely nothing. I got the notion that the culture was just sheer cut-throat with little teamwork and the core values NOT lived out. It was toxic. It kinda sounds like from these posts that not much has changed.

I second that. Being paid to leave BD has been the best thing to happen to me.

While BD wasn’t the best job I’ve had, leaving BD was the best thing I’ve ever did in my professional career haha.

I love how leadership force feed us the BD Core Values, but don't follow them at all. And how they treat older workers should be a guidepost for all companies.

My favorite part about this awesome opossum place is if your work delivers results that are objectively beneficial to the company, someone else above you will agree whole heartedly and take credit for your efforts and lay you off.
