The day after layoffs, a message went out to employees in the Philippines alerting of a mass hiring event for Back Office Analysts, Customer Service Representatives and Technical Support Representatives. They will keep just enough people in the US to satisfy the requirements to have a center in the US and say they are US-based. The credit bureaus and some card brands require US-based customer service centers.

The global payment brass are complete garbage in how they treat their customers and long standing employees. The constant junk fees and hidden fees all in the name of showing investors how much “growth” they’re experiencing.
This is true since I’ve heard of this from a higher up. McKinsey told them to move certain positions to the Philippines. This just confirms it
The post was legitimized and is circulating within the company. Also. You have never called the GSD if you think they speak better English. No offense, just facts Cameron.
A lot of the folks let go were middle management. But many in the USA and India. Most of the people I talk to from the Phillipines speak better english than a lot of Americans, so I understand the business strategy.
As an American, I don't like it. As a share holder - I understand the move. The business has to stay competitive with Fiserv (which is up +60% on their stock over the last 5 years) and others in the business.
So stay on the same path and risk the entire company, or change directions, be more competitive, and save 90% of the jobs. It's not a really hard choice honestly.
How did you find this out? Do you have any proof that Manila is having a mass hiring?
They’ve slowly been replacing my team with Philippines staff this year
