Been with Shell a long time. I don’t remember NDAs being a part of previous re-orgs. Am I misremembering? Why this time? And is the true consequence of breaking an NDA loss of employment? Also, is the NDA thing company wide or just in Deepwater?

We've always had them.
People who left PTX in the previous wave had to sign NDA’s.
I know at least in IT, NDA’s are a thing during reorgs. Upper managers have repeatedly mentioned them in passing.
