Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Are the rest of us supposed to pick up the extra work now?

Considering how overworked we already were before the layoff, I don't think it's realistic to expect us to take over the work from those who were laid off. Unless their goal is to get more of us to quit due to burnout and save them from having to pay more severance, which is entirely possible.

FFS every job is like this. Quit being a loser, su-k it up and do your job.

Maybe if the folks let go weren't so bad at their job they wouldn't be gone. Or- maybe they just THINK they were the good ones. But either way life will go on.

This is about chopping off loose skin and doing a reorg, friggin get over it already.

Where have you been over the last 4 years...when US Team members get layed off? The company's active user accounts #s stay the same or increase.

I'll put in 40 hrs and work hard like I used to.

But there's no way in he-l I'm putting in extra hours to meet deadlines that would've been made prior with extra headcount.

When 5pm rolls around, what's not done will have to wait until the next day. If they don't like it, they can lay me off or hire extra help.

The days of giving your all, beyond a reasonable 40hr work week, to serve a company that only looks at you like a number is over.
