So, according to the news, Lowe’s is ending some DEI policies meant for LGBTQ inclusion. Does anyone actually believe that these policies were anything more than a pathetic attempt to curry public opinion by acting inclusive without actually giving a d@mn?
I certainly don’t. Thats exactly why I never discussed myself while at work. I knew d@mned well that all this supposed tolerance masked the hate that so many managers and associates feel.
Do you know how many vile comments I’ve had to sit through at work? The other associates and managers didn’t think that any of “those people” were around so they made hateful jokes and vulgar comments all the time. I knew to keep my mouth shut. I watched them target others and refuse to promote them. If you don’t think this is going on then you’re deluded. The only reason I’m in my position at all is because I knew better than to trust anyone in this company.
Anyone who didn’t think that this would eventually happen is crazy. It was only a matter of time.
But we’re still here. We always have been. And whether you “tolerate” us or not we always will be. 🖕
