Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Hope this McKinsey gambles payout

I hope the decision to bring in top executives from McKinsey, along with the GP 2025 initiative and the layoffs informed by their feedback, works out in the long run. Many experienced individuals who truly knew the system were let go, leaving those who remain in a state of uncertainty. Annual raises are small and often reduced, leading people to question whether staying with the company is worth it. Top performers aren’t being rewarded as they should be.

Leaders, if you’re reading this, please take note of how people feel working here.

McKinsey not even hiding it at this point. Steal as much IP as they can in their Wave tool, while hiding behind plausible deniability that the ideas were all internally generated, so not their doing when it all inevitably goes wrong. At the same time placing their people in high positions tasked with carrying out the cost cutting, sorry, alignment with strategy

They have played a risky game here... It seems people count of leaving the org will increase in the coming days after the re-org.

I hate to say it but we know they don’t actually care about the people who work here. They care about lining their pockets and board members pockets with money. One cannot have enough yachts, vacation homes, and zeros in their bank accounts.

I always wonder why multimillionaires are never satisfied with how much money they have.

Advising giving a 50% confidence swag on hundreds of ‘wave initiatives’, without any kind of solution calls and your name being tied to the level of effort for the entirety of the project, was ludicrous. McKinsey will be a hero for those projects prioritized and delivered on time, and wipe their hands of the projects not scoped correctly because they blindly rushed some $#!/ timelines, blaming the employees. Then when you speak up, you are ‘not getting on board with change’….

What concern did you raise to Cameron? Did that led to your termination ?

Email Cameron directly, don’t post on some site he’s never going to see. I appreciate your concern, as I was one of the laid off employees, but it seems nobody wants to raise concerns while they are there, because if they do, like myself, you’ll end up on ‘the list’.

Questioning Cameron or McKinsey with constructive feedback shouldn’t be feared, though I know that’s the culture they are driving.

Don’t worry, the leaders aren’t reading this, they’re too busy crying into their stacks of cash as the ship sinks underneath them
