I've heard that they're banking on attrition to happen, and if it doesn't then before GP25 is done there will be another round of layoffs.
Coming from a SVP w couple of years ago in this company this is 100% what they do. They’ll do the first round and hope they don’t need to do another as people will self select out. It was literally said that exact way by Jeff, the others now in his place are exactly the same. There are a lot better companies out there. Hopefully everyone impacted will find a better place soon.
I didn't have any information but also felt as if this was a "first wave" of layoffs to come. I am betting that once everyone is "realigned" into the new structure, it will be exactly as you mentioned. Either people will leave because they've now been overburdened with workload or they will host another round of layoffs. I am willing to bet that if you don't " mesh well" into your new team structure they will use that as a red flag to get rid of you quick... and I'm also betting that how well you fit into the structure is going to be at the discretion of the same people who made the decisions this go round.
