Yeah, he forgot to mention one important aspect as he was trying to weasel his way into capitalists' a*ses - if there are no paid workers, who will buy those builders / creators' sh-t? If normal folk will have no money or a decent way to make ends meet, there will be endless revolts and uprisings and that's not a society these half-witted geniuses would want to live in.
The fact of the matter is - it's not those "genius" business owners who suddenly had an aha-moment and understood they're overpaying and underreceiving, it's the Wall Street sc-m whose greed seems to be endless. Fortune 500 companies these days are raking in more money than most of them ever did before. Yet they count pennies when it comes to their employees who made them rich to start with.
Yes, you can ditch simple processes to AI, but having it produce high-value long-term job is an illusion - AI learns and develops using human input. And that same input is what makes each company unique and competitive. Take away the human aspect and you're left with an oligopoly of clones without heart or soul and any incentive to exist besides filling pockets of their owners. Such companies will be quick to crumble and, once they do, there won't be human talent and grit to stop this process.
Sounds great, but I just don't buy it.
Corporate greed will need to be fed. Nothing has been more constant in human history than those that have plenty exerting control over those that don't. Governments are too broken and mismanaged to be able to provide a basic income so how will people provide for themselves and their families?
Now the disillusionment he speaks of....I definitely get that. But coming out the other side with nonstop rainbows and hobby hour? Doubtful I'll see it in mine or my kids lifetime.
It’s constant meetings to talk about the latest corporate fu-kery, which only prevents you from doing what you should be doing.
Since I started working from home in the last 7 years I was never up to date about the latest corporate fu-kery and very rarely discussed it with anybody. I am minding my own business and my own work, constantly learning which makes me happy with my direction.
There is an ethical component to it. This is why Europe makes it harder to fire workers and requires big severance. Of course greedy capitalists are going to sh-t on their employees if they can. They’re reacting to incentives. It is a moral decision though, so don’t let them su---r you. Just ask Mark Cuban and Bob from Red Mills. You can be filthy rich and take good care of your employees.
