Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Future of the outsourced employees on the hospitality side?

Where do you think Serbian workers are at right now? Will Voyix usher a new age for them or are they simply at the far end of the chopping block line?

Asking as a Serbian employee, should I stay or should I go?

Not just tech support, all levels of employees including management. Why pay a US manager $100k annually, when an overseas manager can do the same job for $30k or even less.

I too have been / was around NCR for 45 years. Lesson learned after mid-90’s when the major cuts started is that NCR is always on the look out for cheaper tech support. Quality does not matter, quantity does not matter. The only thing that matters is cost. Vietnam or Africa will be the next push for tech support. In 5 years some 10 year old in Nigeria will be taking your call.

I've been around the block long enough to see entire teams replaced with Serbia workers. It is inevitable, for every local guy you can hire multiple guys from Belgrade. They speak English fairly well and customers generally enjoy working with them, very straightforward and get the job done.

Serbian managers are much more affordable, and great to work with

Serbians go because the way they are treated. They work for minimum increase 2-3% unless you fancy your way up. They can easily use their experience in another company with double salary.

In the end that is the question should you stay on position working simple, repetitive tasks for not so great sallary or you can learn something new and get better opportunity.

Serbian workers are the future, but what the future even looks like is very uncertain. Rumours are the Serbians are leaving on their own for better opportunities, this alone should be telling you about NCR, Serbian jobs are not new jobs, these are positions open because NCR terminated long term dedicated people and replaced them without any care or consideration for employees or customers through outsourcing.
Does this paint a clear picture of what NCR has become?

You should decide for your life and work, not someone in the net. :)
