Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Marketing anyone????

So this will be "officially" Julia White's last week with SAP ( although I am sure she has been long gone since the announcement). Suffice to say Marketing has been left in a complete shambles. But where do we go from here?

OK, we merge Product marketing with Product development, which means we will have 30, 40 or more different Marketing themes. Will they all be synched up to reflect one to the other?

And then there is "Corporate Marketing" things like "unified branding" that promote the company as a whole, market research, advertising campaigns, etc....

Of course, Product marketing must be done in total alliance with Corporate marketing -"who" will provide this strategy, oversight, execution....?

Yes, what a tangled web the departure of Julia White will leave at the end of this week when she is gone and the broken pieces will be left behind for someone else to pick up.....Marty H. - marketing anyone.....??????

Yes, CK has told "restructure" ( AKA layoffs ) will go thru 2025 (actually just before the next restructure is announced -:).

He knows the investment community likes the downsizing approach and he will feed more to them.

Besides exactly what media ads have been placed under JW? ( or ada). Zip, Zero,.... Accordingly, CK is seeing a lot of green going out the door in Marketing LOB which is why JW was pushed out on just 30 day notice and yes, much more to come in this area,

CK not finished with his reduction/reorg plan, he made substantial changes in merging marketing with Dev, surely there is more to come ( i.e. outsource) ... doubt she will be here in 2025, in such a role.

Doesn't look like NICE has a CMO, perhaps Julia White will joint Scott Russell in short order and Ada will be right behind.

No disrespect to Ada Agrait but she has not the experience to be the CMO of a $33 B + Fortune 100 company. She has been at SAP for about 2 years and before that was a protege of Julia White at Microsoft.

Maybe she is just holding a place till a decision on whether someone of more experience or stature is placed OR she will just be relaying marketing requests to the Agencies who will be handling our overall Marketing strategy.

Has CK truly undervalued this position or has he decided to fully outsource the function?

The fact is Julia White inherited a very well oiled marketing machine. We had marquee events ( Sapphire, Tech Ed, ASUG) - all were world class events. We were visible at all the major sporting ( Super Bowl, Stanley cup...) . And has anybody forgotten about the fantastic Clive Owen ads?

All of these successes disappeared on Julia White's arrival. What has she done to maintain our market dominance? Nothing.

Now I am not sure that what CK is planning on as far as merging part of Marketing with Development is a good idea? ( who does this ??) And so far no info at all about who will be responsible for our overall Corporate Marketing, Branding, Media, Digital ads...etc

Nonetheless Marketing LOB will be decimated by sometime next year.... and maybe that's just what CK and Dominik Asam want.

Are you daft? Julia did not leave it this way. The lunatics that run the asylum made this model and they let her go.

Make no mistake these are seismic changes and the effect will be felt in our financial results in 6-9 months.

Yes, there will also be culling in marketing.

Model will be different going forward. Much of what was in Marketing LOB responsibility will be outsourced to third party agencies, mostly on geographic basis.

Will be cuts in Marketing beginning of next year to offset the approach CK wants to implement.

Please......Marty was a prima donna who exceled at spending SAP money ( mostly on himself). He ran the office like a prison camp - you better not dare to question Marty or his gang or you'd be out on the sidewalk.

Forget about it, he is not the model we want going forward.. Besides he's now gaming Billy Mc at Service Now where he has yet another cushy gig..... nice work if you can get it...does it ever end!!
