Thread regarding MassMutual layoffs

More ETX layoffs in fall 2024

More ETX layoffs are coming in the fall. Expect projects that are finishing to see layoffs. Teams that don't have Operations backing will have layoffs. Areas not hit in the last round are going to be hit this time.

More teams are going to be moved entirely to Romania and India. More line managers will be moved to Romania or India. ETX will start using vendors to build things and then India and Romania to support. All role types will be impacted. They will continue to move people to different teams or work too.

ELT & SLT still think they're a technology company, but they want to ship all the work to India and Romania. They let go of US contributors and managers and replace them with people in those countries.

They have all these strategies about moving to "modern tech", but Operations has to fund the work and they want to keep their 20+ year old systems because they're scared change means they need to have Ops layoffs.

What other areas will be impacted? Law/Compliance, Procurement?

Keep in mind, the people affected are on a list and done. It doesn’t matter how hard you worked, how good of a job you did. No one cares. When you get your 30 days notice, don’t do a single extra thing, opt out of meetings and only do what is required by the terms of your severance. Any energy you give them is pointless and they don’t deserve it.

It’s about time they stopped pretending to be a technology company. They tried to pretend to be one when Gareth was around but as we all saw, everything he touched eventually turned to sh-t. Get your resumes updated now and don’t expect to get a job until next year in the most competitive market in decades. All budgets and hiring is going to be frozen until after the election to see how the market reacts across the board.

Probably the same as what they always do. 30 days notice, 3 months severance for short tenures, partial AIP

That is not good. Will the impacted employees be terminated on the same day when they get notified or be on a later date?
