Having a hard time focusing on the work today because of the anxiety. Hope you all are well and good luck to everyone.

My manager was called into a meeting this afternoon. He never has afternoon meetings. Makes me wonder what's going to happen in our department.
Anyone on the tech side of the house? Sounds like the restructure of the tech side may save most of us. I have not been a part of any meetings today outside of the 9am All Hands. Sounds like middle management (managers, directors) also don't have any insight. No surprise meetings have popped up on my calendar today... And I guess we will find out more about the structure of our organization later in the week. I am assuming there will still be some changes to come, but with this being a tech-forward initiative they will need to keep as many tech folks as they can.
Also... for the folks who have been part of these meetings, what is your role (or at least a general idea) and how are they handling things like severance and benefits?
They expect us to be productive so the numbers look good going into the long holiday weekend.
HA!
As your CEO, I know there’s been a lot of anxiety about layoffs going on right now. But rest assured, the only thing getting deprecated around here is our old codebase. So as long as you’re not still writing in COBOL, you should be just fine. Now, let’s refactor our worries and keep pushing those commits!
Agree. No work getting done today, several meetings canceled. Calendar is clear for the anxiety at hand. It su-ks.
