Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Benefits and severance pay

For those that have been laid off, can you please disclose when your insurance benefits are active until?

And did you receive any severance pay? If so, for how long?

I, and I’m sure many others, have health problems and desperately need insurance benefits.

If you haven’t already- get a 3 month supply of your medication filled ASAP!!!

People are considered employed for 30 days, ie last day is Sept 25 even if access is revoked.
Health Insurance "should" be managed on a monthly basis, therefore "should" be available through September (there are probably state laws governing this).

Severance provides 2 weeks pay for every year employed, not to exceed 26 weeks.

Severance is paid in one check, I believe to be considered a "bonus" for taxation.

Will Severance be paid in one paycheck or would it continue till some time like regular paycheck?

yes, there is a cap on the 2 weeks severance. You can't get more than 6 months of severance even if you have been working for 30+ years

I thought insurance is good until Sept 26 per the 3pm CDT phone call.

EOD for insurance? That's horrible! They should give more time. Cobra is so expensive. Hopefully something more affordable can come through market.

But seriously, why are employment laws so employer favored?

Severance is 2 weeks/year of employment. But minimum of 4 weeks.

Medical benefits end EOD. Go get those prescriptions refilled!
