Multiverse Apprenticeship for Clover Fiserv (Need Advice)

Hello everyone, I recently interviewed for a position at Clover for an apprenticeship and I have been looking around to see how working conditions are like. Looking here I don't see a lot of hope, but if anyone could give me some advice on if it's a decent place to work at for someone will no experience then that would be a huge help. Thanks in advance.

Clover's apprenticeship aren't terrible, but you should take other offers if available. Most of the Clover's best engineers have left, but the apprenticeship program is a still a decent opportunity to break into the tech industry.

IF... You can set boundaries, know how to compartmentalize and say No, then it might be ok. A lot of people can't seem to do this. With that said this place should be your last option.

Thank you everyone for the responses. These have been really helpful. The position is for a Software Development Engineer if that helps. If I do happen to get picked then I definitely have some thinking to do.

Sadly, if you want an apprenticeship fraught with chaos, poor management, terrible software (read: not secure, and Clover promises merchants secure transactions), and the promise of being taken over by management that's never worked with POS system, then you should take the job. You will learn about everything you don't want in a company. As far as value-creating skills, I doubt very seriously you will acquire any. If you don't HAVE to take a job for financial reasons, keep looking. Seriously.

If you don't receive any better offers for an apprenticeship, then take it. But know going in, this is not where you will stay long term. Get as much experience as you can, but keep looking for something better! Good luck

Hard to say. If the other job prospects out there aren't great and you just need a foot in the door for resume experience sometimes you need to do what you gotta do. And when I say experience you are adding it to your resume. It's depending on the team you join that will determine how much you actually learn.

I wouldn't recommend long term. The stories here are the worst of the worst but nothing I see here is inaccurate either.

Don’t join. Take it from someone in HR is Australia. Worst company ever with worst ever HR head for APAC. The company will give you wellbeing problems as well as physical.

Those on clover have complained about workplace bullying and stress and oyr hr boss in Singapore KH has just laughed. Save yourself while you can!!!

Do NOT go with Fiserv unless bill collectors are at your door and your car was seized. It used to be a good company until First Data merger and now - well all gone. If you want a paycheck - ok, got that. Experience? Dunno what that looks like on the resume now. Just find a good local bar for the end of the day and you, can, well survive. For a few weeks. (I am retired, from Fiserv and it WAS good before I left).

If Clover is like other parts of the company, you should be the most experienced person in your department in about a year.

I'm just messing with you. You should come work at Fiserv. It will make all future employers feel like a dream.
