Thread regarding Dish Network layoffs

Where's Charlie??

Interestingly, you never hear anything from Charlie Ergen anymore? He's Missing In Action (MIA).

Charlie's got corporate"stooges" in Management to take the spotlight off him as his wealth evaporates. I'm not sure that he's even legitimately a Billionaire any longer?

In any case many would say (see links to reviews below) he's a despicable character who has mistreated many people over these last 40+ years.

He's well known according to employees for setting the tone for a lot of bad behavior within the company. Many who've worked at Dish have said they've experienced firsthand the effects of that toxic culture at Dish which was allowed to run rampant and unchecked as many employees claim to have not been treated properly.

In short, whatever befalls Charlie & his company next couldn't happen to a "nicer guy!"

I’ve been in “the field” for 2 plus decades.Everything from C-band Sat Video to Roadrunner to signal transport and everywhere in between.I’ll give you a lil insight into what I’ve witnessed during that timeframe.I saw DTV DEMOLISH Dish in subscribers and retention, year after year after year(albeit prior to MaBell’s buyout).I’ve seen cable(insert any of their names here)wreck everyone else including Frontier. Now I’m seeing Mom n Pop FTTH companies give everyone a decent run for their money.I’ve seen Elon outsmart EVERY flippin body and post his Sats 300 miles away with his own dang rockets.I’ll tell you what I see in the end. It’s gonna be well oiled HFC providers, ftth companies and Elon left standing when the dust settles. The era of traditional Sat and even twisted pair is done, finito,ex communicado. It’s not even a question of how,but when.I salute all of you and I implore you to get on the right side of things, while you can.Technology is constantly moving forward and sad truth, most of y’all haven’t been on the leading edge for a VERY long time.Best of luck in your future endeavors

If Dish is lucky DTV will maybe buy their birds(for a discount)The DOJ has shot down multiple attempts to merge the 2,citing anti-trust concerns. In 10 years when the birds all go Sunset, they 2 will be obselete.Maybe Elon will buy whatever’s left for Pennie’s on the dollar.Sad truth is it’s antiquated technology.Too little too late for both Dish n DTV unfortunately.Get your contributions maxed and put your resumes in for a cable or Fiber provider if you don’t have tenure,or you haven’t already.

About a month to go until q4 and still no definitive answer on q4 funding and if it will be met. Is it likely they do BK before q4 even starts?

The sad truth is dish has always been behind the times and thought they were too big to fail.15 years ago Direct put em on their backs with wireless receivers and buying TiVos intellectual (and well The Sunday Ticket for 2 plus decades)Their product was garbage(700 model “dvrs” anyone?)customer service was abysmal at best and they continually dropped programming. After the HFC providers upped their game and made MSOs with major cellular providers, still Dish did nothing.Well not nothing required their field techs to upsell customers 30-40% with gold plated dingle hoppers and backlit remotes etc. When the BIG Merger deals got approved by the DOJ they cried they couldn’t be viable,as they had no spectrum. So they way over payed for crumbling 3g/4g infrastructure from bottom of the barrel pay as you companies(mind you the hfc providers push the circuits to these towers)Got caught with their pants down if you will, kinda like Frontier when they bought out V.Still to this day their only real viable option for internet bundles is some super high latency satellite joke. They did it to themselves. That’s what you get when a Buncha peeps in shiny shoes and cheap suits, ain’t done a day of hard work in their lives, call the shots. They need to fail and a better, smarter option needs to replace them.Next man up,that’s how Capatilism works.🤷‍♂️

The person(s) who are posting that all is well are clearly oblivious to the continued loses in subscribers for all of Dish's offerings, providing only inconsequential "proof" that "all is well. At this point, Dish is like that meme of the dog inside a burning room saying "This is fine".

The person who keeps posting the "making moves" that Boost Mobile is doing well is one of Jeremy's social media managers, paid to post "all is well" on all forums.
