Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Apologize for transformation

In the town hall meeting, leadership acknowledged and apologized for the organizational changes, specifically consolidating three segments into one. It was mentioned that the new individual replacing MCB has made some strong remarks about the restructuring, and for the first time, a fresh perspective is revealing the issues left behind by MCB. MCB’s inner circle—TAYO, Madero, JS, and YQ—were all part of the problem. A shift is on the horizon, and as they say, history tends to repeat itself, just like it did with BH.

This is what happens when those at the top are rewarded according to how much they can cut & save rather than how much they can build & create.
They say it’s all about us adopting different behaviours – I couldn’t agree more, because the only thing being created at the Top just now are more PowerPoint presentations.

So much talk about how to fix but getting rid of people that can actually fix it. Just what is needed, more presentations with no results.

I struggle to see how this can be turned round.. not a single person is happy.. simple things need an abdundance of approvals which delays quick reaction time. Basic systems don’t work and need a million emails to make it happen. Head count cuts still coming in strong for Q1 2025 and people 10+ years are leaving with no attempt to understand why.

Disaster.. our customers see it and the MRP shows it

Cutting off your limbs to see which one you missed more wasn’t a good plan? I recall one of those you listed saying on a townhall earlier this year “we’ll just figure it out” when asked how to continue operations. Guess it will be someone else figuring it out.

The only shifting will be the Deck Chairs on the Titanic.
Some things are so F'd that they can't be unf'd until the Brass start to understand Customers want reliable products, delivered on time, not Powerpoint Presentations and excuses.

Which town hall meeting was this? Was it recent? Amerino doesn't even have to fully turn the ship around to make improvements. A legit, valid, communicated plan on how to turn the ship around would be highly appreciated and more than anything MCB did the last few years. Here's hoping he can clean up her mess. Not holding my breathe, but hopefully something positive comes from his efforts.
