Damn this was a poorly thought plan of layoff and such. I work in the Fab, not saying which one. I work back half days. Front half days all the good techs took the buy outs, today they laid off the rest of the team. Boss calls me out of the blue and announces we now have mandatory overtime, at least 2 days a week.

We went through an org change as the layoffs were announced and were given MORE break time and OT is still available, but optional as that’s how labor laws work here at least…

Since MTs only work 3 hours a day anyways (we can see you in the cafeteria taking 6h breaks), I assume overtime just means you'll have to work the normal amount of hours now.
I doubt that is true unless they are Salary.
