Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Sundays of an Optum employee

There are only two types of Sundays, one with normal levels of anxiety and one when anxiety goes through the roof. Sc--w the workplace which manages to ruin our every weekend.

I used to feel like that too. I would not even be able to sleep Sundays because of all the anxiety about how far behind I was coming into Mondays. But then I changed my thinking with gratitude and grace. Gratitude that I had a job so that I could have one less thing to worry about for another day and grace with myself. I am only able to do so much mentally and stress makes me even less able to focus and think. Not saying your not justified in feeling the way you are, and there are likely many things about your job you cannot control, but the one thing you can do is change how it impacts your mental health and how you react.

It wasn’t like this about a year ago. Work was busy, but okay.
Then they laid off a C-level employee in our division (person with a lot of business knowledge). Since then it’s been chaos.
I dread Sunday afternoons and Mondays.

Every new week at this company is the worst week of my life.
