I hope this does not disproportionately affect the POC.
I'm not sure what Pope role or responsibilities are, but she as a 10M salary?
It's going to be many more than 17,000 because 17,000 is only the current announced FTE number. There will be at least 5-6 thousand contractors fired inside Boeing plus a presently un-calculable number of jobs cut at Boeing suppliers. I can tell you that right now Boeing India, Boeing Korea , Boeing Japan will NOT have any lay-offs. Some of the larger contracting companies were smart and put in their contracts a no early termination clause. This was due to the zero day notice in the 2020 lay-offs. The 90 day notice with full payment clause in their contract just means these firms are gone before 2025. If your are one of lucky ones that gets fired with a package you can still collect 26 weeks of unemployment. Managers have already turned in the cut list.
Oh well. Glad I have enough seniority have fun guys it was good while it lasted
Good the company needs a good cleaning! Top to bottom. Only way it will ever be fixed. It still might not be enough. Lol
This is coming since that door plug blew off and the board started finding a new puppet to hide their own incompetence. Kitchen-sink the first two quarterly earnings with all the possible bad news before the honeymoon with investor is over is CEO 101. Strike is just an easy scape goat to let people forget it was the C-suite and the board that got us here.
17,000 white men laid off
The final purge
Does it this affect the space side or only the commercial planes ?
@nyo+1uWz8hSe India doesn't even have basic sanitation settled, but sure, high speed rail connecting of their few of their cities that each have 10s of millions of people is something to be proud of.
I recommend being responsible to your family and go into work, and if you get laid off you get unemployment for a bit. Shame on you union and its leaders. Now everyone pays for it.
America is sh-t, the laughing stock of the world. Build high speed rail and join the ranks of India ya useless caulks.
Maybe Boeing should have built planes with door plugs that stay on, and built a spacecraft that was safe and operational enough to bring astronauts back home.
At the end of the day...the executives are still getting paid, the stock will go up, and front line workers and engineers will be without jobs.
I work at a large supplier of Boeing. At first they said we were going to be able to catch up to back orders. Now wondering if we’re going to see order cancelations. Here come the moneywell furloughs…
When you are on the picket lines tonight, look around you, 1 or 2 of you won't be back.
I hope it was worth 10% of your buddy's jobs.
So glad I left Boeing 4 years ago. Best decision of my life. As a former union worker i can say that 50% of the workers do most of the work while the other 50% are lazy, on FMLA or disabled (at least it’s that way it was in Everett).
It is a 2 way street though. Boeing asked for this strike by the way they mismanaged the company and by the way they treated their workers. But The union will not get their pension back ever. That ain’t happening.
Sc--w u iam 751 u dummies, now this. I’m going in monday. I hope the get rid of the union. All of u have a responsibility to god and family not the union , wake up.
Well you stupid IAM id--ts, congratulations. I feel sorry for the low senority guys who would've voted yes on the latest deal.
