Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Optum at Home

I am an RN - was laid off from Optum earlier this year, was redeployed under Optum at Home (not Landmark). Lots of changes lately, wouldn’t be surprised if I hear that my program no longer ceases to exist soon, we serve DSNP members. Was wondering if anyone has any information what areas of Optum at Home will be affected (besides Landmark, of course)? Thanks.

It’s called value base care. Recently went by a wellmed clinic with a friend. Wow there were no patients there. A once thriving medical clinic is practically empty. They have no staff and no patients . Meanwhile their competitors are thriving with all kinds of programs for their members. Optum / UHC buy up business with the intent of diminishing services so they can keep any money for themselves while their members try to find service.

Optum At Home is a great Program. Why are they so driven to reduce or eliminate programs that serve members at their most vulnerable time?!

Honestly, there is no way to tell what’s coming. Even if they say your line of business or market is currently stable, that can change within a few months. Senior leadership lacks full transparency.
