Thread regarding Discover Financial Services layoffs

DFS & C1 Merger

I've been at other companies when there is a merger. In the DFS/C1 merger it is my understanding that C1 will be in charge. It is very cernerning since on this site for layoffs there is highly negative posts about C1: https://www.thelayoff.com/capital-one-financial

I hope the merger fails and DFS continues on it's own.

Are you a tarot reader or modern day Nostradamus? How can you say acquisition will not go through?

The merger will never be approved the regulators even after the election. Period.

C1 taking over DFS is not a merger. It’s an acquisition with underlying sinister.

If this acquisition goes through DFS employees are royally fudged.

Per prev comment "No need to worry. Discover will boss up C1. C1 is a weak company"
I would not count on DFS taking control. Typically all the high level execs at DFS will be released (parachute pkg) and C1 leadership will take control. Only one that may survive is the the DFS Network Exec (C! doesn't have their own network). But that may be only temporary.....in time he too may be replaced or forced to play the C1 game. Some may say I'm all doom and gloom but I've seen it in multiple mergers. If the merger happens it will the the start of the end for DFS happy days.
