Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Remote Discrimination

I do not think it will be easy to fire a remote employee when other hybrid employees in the same city do not go into the office because there is no local office. Some of these employees were told by management to select hybrid and other were told by management to select remote but they both live in the same city. In this situation, you are basically firing someone based on a label that has been placed on them. This sounds like discrimination to me. I think this is going to be a legal problem for Dell.

It won't matter even though it's totally discrimination. This country and state (TX) protects the corporations over the people.

Anyone heard if remotes with a medical disability will be forced back even against ADA policy?

there will be one fired for being remote, what they will do is revoke remote status for all remote employees so everyone will be office based. If you dont or cant go to the office then you will be fired for breach of contract with no severance

Rubbish. Hybrid was the default option. Remote had to be approved not the other way around. You could switch to hybrid today if you wanted to.

Yes my manager did the same . Not letting me choose hybrid so I won’t go to office, meet new folks, make new contacts and then lay me off.
