Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

New Medical Insurance

Took a look at the BCBS offerings and didn't see anything that looked particularly out of line in terms of coverages vs existing plans. Some cost increase in premium across the board but no surprise there as that happens anyway. Am I missing something?

All these penny pinching changes can be traced to our CFO trying to justify her $2 million per month compensation.

My family and I have been with Kelsey Seybold Clinic for over 20 years. It's incredibly disappointing to see Exxon compromise our well-being by switching to a cheaper, substandard insurance plan. Their relentless penny saving is disgusting. It's going to be a massive to chore this January to find all new specialists and so forth. Kelsey provided all those in one clinic.

@swq. A coworker mentioned their wife had called Kelsey Seybold and told her our insurance wasn’t accepted.

From the link you sent, there is a disclaimer at the bottom that says “ Kelsey-Seybold will not participate in the following BCBSTX plans: Blue Premier, Blue High-Performance network, Marketplace plans: My Blue Health, and Blue Advantage HMO, or any BCBSTX Medicare products.”

I’m not exactly sure which version of BCBS ours is considered.

So if I receive a 10% raise can I complain that it is only a slight increase and I deserve more?

OP you say “ Some cost increase in premium across the board but no surprise there as that happens anyway”. You must be leadership or HR trying to sell this as an improvement. PPO B went up 10% which is a lot in 1 year. And the info page says “Good news! Contributions will increase slightly or stay the same….” SMH. What a ridiculous selling point. So, we changed to pay more?! Great job Kathy!

Dental is same monthly contribution but seems less selection for in-network and likely more out of pocket

Kelsey website says they do take BCBS, does it not? https://www.kelsey-seybold.com/make-an-appointment/insurance-accepted/blue-cross-blue-shield-plans

I’ve heard Kelsey Seybold Clinics do not accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. Maybe they will reevaluate if XOM employees make up a significant number of their patients. But I’m not happy to have to find new primary care physicians for my children. Especially since my second son was just born and in the middle of his routine check-ups.

Still waiting for official communication, but what I can find seems consistent with the regular Aetna of the soon past.

Though based on what I absolutely know about XOM standards in past 5 years, it will be inferior across the board.

Dental and vision as well.
