I never imagined the culture at Intel would be worse than where I came from. At my previous job, the team was bad and toxic, but the overall company culture was decent. At Intel, though, the entire company culture feels toxic. I find myself having to say things I never would elsewhere, just to survive meetings. People smile while tearing you down. It feels like you have to be cutthroat or you'll be pushed out. It's a rough place for anyone with integrity.

I was a contractor there for 24 years. It was referred to as “inhell” for a reason. It progressively became a soul-su-king environment.
The toxic culture that h1b Indians could change if more people filed lawsuits. H1b cases of national origin discrimination have been winning in court, so more workers just need to document it and file it.
Cognizant was found guilty of discrimination from their use of h1b, Qualcomm and Intel should follow suit. The toxic culture could end if Tech companies realize their h1b hiring schemes are setting them wide open for lawsuits and h1b are not helping companies innovate.

ex-Qualcomm here. Intel's culture is bad but Qualcomm's is akin to yellowstone acidic pool with fumes of H2SO4, HCN etc flying around in all the meetings. There was never one know-it-all; there were plenty. Many tried to ki55ass the boss, and most of those 'many' used to be H1bindians. First I thought I had got a raw deal in terms of the team I was assigned to but when I asked around, it was almost everywhere. There is a reason why I called QC yellowstone. Intel is the same, if not worse. I am waiting for my pink slip frankly and may be some crumbs for severance dollars.
For the grammar police: Yes, I know “There,” “their and “they're”. I was typing fast in agreement with the O.P.
This… is why Intel deserves to burn. It was only a matter of time before the pompous pricks of our Intel were dethroned. Believe me there are a ton of people laughing there as--s off watching it go down the drain.
15 year veteran here. Hang in there. It wasn't always like this. In my personal experience, things really started going down between 2016 (ACT) - 2021/22. One could even argue many external hires contributed to the declining culture. There are many bad teams at Intel but I have been fortunate to work with just as many high quality people with integrity who want to help Intel succeed. Yes in meetings everyone wants to pretend they are the boss, they are driving the show, they are the ones who know everything. Ignore it. It is not worth the health issues. It is a difficult place but I'm sure the same hold true for other big companies (AMD, Qualcomm, etc.) You have two choices. Either find a new position externally if you believe you cannot function or try to work/surround yourselves with people who you can collaborate with to get things done to move Intel forward and show your value.
