Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Proud No Longer

As the child of Phillips Petroleum Company employees, I was always proud of my parents for having good jobs and working hard while performing these jobs.
So, I was very happy and proud when I got the chance to work for PPCO and the successive companies over the years.
I even had hopes that my daughter would be able to join P66 after her college graduation next spring, which would make her 3rd generation Phillips.
Unfortunately, with BT and the current regime, led by the Go Go Boy, I no longer feel that pride. If my daughter needs a job and Phillips 66 offers her 1 it will be ok and if another company offers her a job that will be ok too.
Phillips 66 is now just another company with average benefits.
They have completely destroyed the great traditions and heritage of P66 for very little or no gain.
I'm now just hoping to be able to work a little longer, retire, and put P66 in the rear-view mirror.

I left 90 days ago to take a long term contract for a competitor. So much happier. Well, I miss having vacation time and VCIP, the change was worth it.

The company is just a body shop now. Revolving door of human assets.

Take your money and run

As a recent retiree, let me assure you it's so much nicer on the other side. I just could not take the constant turmoil any longer. Goals were meaningless, work progress was stopped at every turn, it simply was no longer fun. I retired and it's so good!

As someone else said, take your pension and run!
