Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Please please please can we agree to just stop calling these people “leaders”??

They embody not one shred of leadership competencies. At best they are toxic managers, and at worst narcissistic bullies.

The one word they are not is leaders. Leaders embody values; ethics; morals; vision; fortitude, and tenacity. Leaders inspire and drive results through mutual respect.

So let’s just stop calling these people “leaders” please. They give supervisors a very bad name!

Please share which ‘leaders’ you are referring to or in what market are these so called leaders?

Let’s keep calling these individuals “leaders.” They’ve certainly mastered the art of using fear, manipulation, and ego to get the job done. Forget about things like ethics, vision, or mutual respect—those are outdated concepts. Who needs values when you can just grind people down into submission?

These aren’t leaders; they’re managers who thrive on toxicity and control. But sure, let’s keep pretending they possess some shred of leadership. After all, they’re really just redefining success as short-term results built on a foundation of burnt-out employees and shattered morale.

Leaders are supposed to inspire, to build trust, to show strength in the face of adversity. But these so-called leaders? They’re too busy protecting their fragile egos to even pretend to care about the people around them. So, yes, we should absolutely stop calling them leaders. It’s a title they neither deserve nor understand.

Welcome to ITSS.
