Thread regarding CVS layoffs

CVS going to be like Sears

It has been over four years since I last handed CVS money for anything. CVS isn't doing well.

Although I'd like to take credit, the truth is more and more people have simply had it with CVS.

Now the local 24 hour CVS isn't even 24 hour anymore. Sure, they make sure the sign that says "24 Hours" is still working, but the self-inflicted staffing issues are now evident to all when they have to turn off the sign and close up shop late at night because they didn't have staffing that day. But the real idiocy is they still try to stay open 24 hours, resulting in a store with an inconsistent schedule. That's worse, because people won't bother trying the store at 3 AM if they think it is going to be closed.

To CVS leadership: Fu-k you.

To that id--t engineer in Burlington: Seriously, stop posting, you are an id--t.

To the rest of CVS employees, there are better things out there, and your customers are already voting with their feet. Just bounce out.

Regarding the better things out there, please let us know where you bounce out too.

Sears/Kmart is dying a very slow death. I can definitely see CVS doing the same. Executive leadership is very slow to respond to changes in the healthcare industry. CVS talks up a big game about being at the forefront of healthcare, yet couldn't see the rising medical costs from Medicare coming?

Plus, in the last 3 years they've laid off over 8,000 people and closed over 900 stores. Not to mention all the debt they've taken on from acquisitions. Now departments are being slashed, hours at the stores are being cut to the bone, staffing is at critical levels, Caremark is under intense scrutiny, Aetna is struggling, and the hits just keep on coming.

CVS is definitely in trouble. Glenview capital probably requested a meeting because they've seen the value of their investment in CVS go down almost 50% from it's all time high. Losing half your value is not a good sign. Time to wake up and smell the coffee people. The ship is taking on water badly.
