Omnissa RTO in Bay area

I live in San Jose. I guess that I am supposed to work in Mountainview office, but my manager and all my team mates are working remotely. Do I still need go to office? My manager said that he doesn't care.

"My manager said that he doesn't care."

Based on my 3 years of prior experience in VMW EUC, nothing changed. Our managers have consistently been responsible for the mediocrity that defines our company culture. They didn't care to improve anything that was flawed in the past, and that's been their status quo. KKR could terminate the majority of the custodian directors and managers without impacting Omnissa revenue. It's truly a cash-cow business model.

Omnissa is the d-mbest company in the valley. Folks working there sc--wed vmware from inside for so many years. Only bluff and no stuff. So called IT czars advocated for two ERPs in vmware. You can imagine their d-mbness and vision for the company.

Fire all of them and let KKR invest in something meaningful.

Omnissa has no future, prepare for interviews folks.

Just be careful that they use failed RTO to fire you without severance.

How? Freeze development, fire 80%, and raise prices. Recover 3x investment and flush it down the toilet.

Simple.

I’m sure KKR is already into the next acquisition.

Your manager sounds like all the other retired-in-place leaders at Omnissa.

Why KKR wanted to acquire this declining business unit is still puzzling. Extract some profit, how exactly? It's like trying to extract water from a rock, only worse. The EUC market is flat, and enterprise CIO interest is elsewhere. In the overall scheme of things, our RTO doesn't matter. Omnissa is irrelevant. Nobody cares anymore. Get over it.

your manager doesn't care because your manager is getting RIFd

I almost got stuck in the elevator there, and the elevators have been breaking down every week or more often. So, my manager agrees with me that I don't have to go to the office until the elevators start working reliably!

Diddy videos will drop any day now just before the elections. Its going to be bonkers. In a month you will forget about all the layoffs in VMware and this Omnissa thing.

Any juicy stories in VMware? With so much diversity hiring there is bound to be some shiiittt that happened. What happened to all the harrassement truth finding missions by retired US attorneys?

The Diddy drama is so much more interesting than the layoff drama at VMware. The pedo nation keeps going and going and never stops to entertain. The society is rotten to the core. Who care about some stupid job.

"I don't have a team. I don't have a manager. My manager and my team was gone many months ago. I just go to office and sit there. They are still paying me salary."

That is the best job, that is the worst job.

If your manager doesn’t care then why are you asking such as stupid question here.

Yes. You have been selected to represent the physical existence of your team. Congrats!

Yes.

Most of us in offices sit by ourselves while our managers and teammates work from home.

Yes. Go to office if you need to keep your job. Your manager will not save or care about you when it comes to headcount cuts. Never believe or trust your manager. Trust yourself in this brutal tech industry.
