Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Another LR Coming?

Given the economy is in a tailspin with the gov’t propping it up with a phony jobs report made up mostly of temp government employees hired in September, we have to expect another round of tech LRs coming soon. Do we think it will be shortly after election?

No, they are just hopping on to push an agenda and listen to the wailing.

You must be talking the typical American politicians on both sides.

Why do we have so many liers, crooks, pretenders and trolls in this country? The ethical values decadency is astonishing.

If you can't find a job in this economy, then maybe your skills are not current.
I have received two unsolicited job offers.
You want to complain about the job market, go to Europe and see waht a real bad job market is like.

LR stands for Labor Reduction. It’s an AMD term that OP as an AMD employee must not realize we don’t use in Intel

Intel layoffs have more to do with the company vs. the macro economy.

  1. Pandemic hit and consumers/companies bought PCs for work from home wave.
  2. New CEO swings for the fence with IFS strategy
  3. Hires 40,000 excess workers ramping expenses right into a declining sales environment
  4. Pushes for 5 nodes in 4 years and customers can't possibly consumer new nodes at that rate
  5. Grifts for tax breaks, breaks ground for new plants all over the world. Now has nothing but empty parking lots and shell buildings idle due to lack of demand.

The 15,000 layoffs are not the end of it. Everyone knows it. You don't need to have a recession, just reward for terrible strategy is enough.

US stocks 1.5 standard deviations above historical PE... probably nothing.

Tailspin? Dow is all time highs. Our competition- all time highs. It’s us - we are the problem.
